While visiting our office on a regular basis is essential to keeping your smile in good health, it is perhaps even more important that you take good care of your smile at home. The basic steps of good dental hygiene should include:

  • Brushing your teeth after each meal or at least twice each day. We recommend that you use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a fluoridated toothpaste.
  • Flossing your teeth after each meal or at least once each day. The most important time to floss is at night before going to bed.
  • Eating a balanced, nutritious diet. Try to avoid very sugary and acidic foods.
  • Visiting Dr. Lake Garner & Dr. Margaret Nichols at least twice each year for a routine dental exam and teeth cleaning.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your smile stays in the best possible health.
